MAMADOU - Stromberg's, Emergenza Finals

MAMADOU Show

This Friday (June 29), we will be bringing back MAMADOU'S African Beach Party at Stromberg's!  We are on at 8:30 PM.  Be prepared to kick off the long weekend with this great outdoor experience.

As you probably know by now (this is mostly for the new-comers to our Mailing List), MAMADOU has been competing in this year's Emergenza international battle-of-the-bands competition.  Through luck, support from friends, family, fans, and others, and lots of VERY hard work, we have made it to the Finals (Round 4).  In fact, at the Semi-Finals, we placed 1st for our night (which is not an easy task), and we are both proud of that accomplishment, and humbled by the support we have been given by all.

The Final local round is being held at the Avalon nightclub at 15 Lansdowne Street (Kenmore Square), Boston, MA.  It is on Saturday, June 30, 2007.  We know that we are starting after 4:00 PM, but not the exact time (no later than 5:40 PM).

Here it comes...  We are looking for your support by buying an admission ticket for yourself, inviting others, and showing up at this event to dance, clap along, have a great time, and then to vote for us at the end of our 25 minute set.  It is that easy, but it means the world to all of us in the band who have worked at our music and show for almost 10 years to make it all that it can be.

All members in the band have tickets available for $15.  They are also available at the door, but the Avalon will charge you $25 each (we are offering a $10 discount; plus it makes the band look better to the "big cheeses" who run the competition).  Feel free to contact Mamadou Diop at 978-509-4821 (cell) or via email, just to say hi, and/or to reserve/buy your ticket(s).

Better yet, this event is open to ALL AGES.  This is a plus, because you will be able to bring your family and friends with you.  Our performance is family friendly, and our time-slot is early in the day.  That means you can come show your support, and still enjoy the long weekend!

To sweeten the show a little we have, as a guest artist joining us, Master Drummer Joh Camara.  He performed with us in Round 3, and he is unbelievable.  Put that together with Mamadou Diop and his signature rhythm guitar sound, and Pavel Jirka on lead guitar making his Les Paul guitar sing in ways that Clapton only dreams about, just for starters...  I am not kidding.  When we perform live, we PERFORM!

Thank you for your continued support.  We are looking forward to giving you the performance of a lifetime.  Ask anyone who saw our last Emergenza performance (Round 3), and they will let you know what you can expect; only this time it will be kicked up a notch.  Get ready...

Only 1 band moves on to the National Finals (in NYC) from all 3 nights.  Again, we are looking for your support, and we have discounted tickets available ($25 at the door, $15 from us) that are good for all 3 days of music, 5 hours each day.  More information is on our calendar.  Call Mamadou Diop at 978-509-4821, or stop by and visit him at the Baobab Space (Artists Row, near Walgreen's in downtown Salem, MA) to get your tickets NOW!!  We are counting on your support!

We'll see you there!

If you like the music we make for you, then take the MAMADOU challenge:  Choose one (1) friend who you think would like MAMADOU.  Encourage them to go to our web site (mamadou.com) and join our mailing list.  Its that easy, and its free.  Do this once each week.
