"How your music ignites the soul! When you dance it is as if joy itself were celebrating. When you sing the rhythm of the ages pulses through the air electrifying all in its path. You are a marvel, a wonder to behold. We are emboldened and inspired to be in your company as often as possible." --Karen

MAMADOU Show

May Day! May Day!

Yes, we made it through the April showers, so next up on the plate are some May flowers...

But, first we are on at the Western Front in Cambridge, MA!  That is tomorrow (Friday, May 2), as part of the 4th Annual Boston Spring Reggae Fest.  The event is 21+, and it starts soon after 8:30 PM.  We are on for a full set, sharing the stage with other great reggae artists (see the flyer on our calendar listing for more information) - even though we are not only reggae...  But, hey, it will be a great night of entertainment!

Next weekend (Saturday, May 10), we are returning to the Pickled Onion in Beverly, MA for a night of African music at an Irish bar!  It is true World Fusion.  We start at 9:30 PM.

We'll see you soon!

Reminder: Mamadou Diop is preparing for another amazing trip to Senegal, West Africa (January 2009).  If you are interested, contact him or see our website for more information.

If you like the music we make for you, then take the MAMADOU challenge:  Choose one (1) friend who you think would like MAMADOU.  Encourage them to go to our web site (mamadou.com) and join our mailing list.  Its that easy, and its free.  Do this once each week.

MAMADOU Trivia - Interesting May Day fact: Unlike Easter, Whitsun, or Christmas, May Day is the one festival of the year with no significant church service.
